AboutWhat we build, why it matters
A narrow, well-built tool for a problem that was going uncaught.
DriftPatrol is the regulatory-change monitoring product of Deer Track Design LLC, a software firm based in Illinois. We build narrowly focused software for industries where "I didn't see that change" is not an acceptable answer.
What we do
We retrieve publicly accessible web pages on behalf of our customers, detect when those pages change, summarize the differences in plain English, and deliver the summary as a weekly digest or real-time alert. That is the entire product. We are deliberately not a law firm, not a legal-research platform, and not a generalized monitoring tool. The discipline is in the narrowness.
Why we built it
Every regulated industry has the same silent risk: a competitor quietly revised their arbitration clause, a state regulator adjusted reporting thresholds, a vendor rewrote a liability cap. Nobody owns tracking those pages manually, and nobody should. We built DriftPatrol so that the discovery of a material change is a Monday-morning email, not a Friday-afternoon surprise from opposing counsel.
How we operate
- Paperwork-first. Our Terms, Privacy Policy, DPA, AUP, Security Overview, Scraping Posture, and UPL disclaimer are all published and linkable before any customer signs. Procurement does not need a call with us to get diligence materials.
- Narrow product, deep quality. We will not add unrelated features. What we ship, we ship well.
- Human accountability. Every customer gets a named contact at the company. Support requests do not vanish into a ticketing void.
- Platform partnership is primary distribution. We operate directly with law firms at small scale to validate the product, but our core distribution strategy is licensing into legal-technology platforms that already serve firms at scale.
